Isn't this the one that wound up down in Dunsmuir at that bar/motel? They also had a Willimate Shay.

No. Two of these buckers survived the arrival of the Jordan in 1952. The railroad donated one of the plows- #1701, according to one source- to the proposed railroad museum to be located south of Dunsmuir in 1964. The donation included a flanger, a bucker/flanger, a caboose, and a combination car in addition to the bucker plow. The museum fell apart, with the collection becoming the Railroad Park Resort that survives today.

The plow in the picture is the McCloud's #1767. I have been told that it got damaged during the winter of 1968/1969 and has not operated since. The plow sat at various points around town, with a good part of the mid-80's spent next to the highway 89 crossing south of the depot. This plow went to the Great Western Railroad Museum as part of a lawsuit settlement around 1986. The museum just sold it to the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, and it should be moving from McCloud to coastal Oregon in the near future if it has not already.

I have pictures and some more information on the following page:

Thanks for sharing your photos, Brian. Much appreciated.
