How far did the BN freights come in to California? I barely remember seeing the WP across Nevada as a kid and only saw BN the one time I went to Washington growing up. Didn't even know the BN came that far until I was reading "history" articles in high school.

BN and WP pooled power Stockton - Seattle (trains 138-137) Stockton - Vancouver, WA (trains 140-139) and Stockton - Pasco (trains 170-171). The train symbols on the WP reflected the BN connections, e.g., "BN 139" was a WP train symbol.

Best regards,

Rob L.

To add to what Rob Leachman wrote, BN power basically ran over the WP from Bieber, down the Hi-Line to Keddie Wye, then west and south down to Stockton. BN power rarely went west of Stockton, and rarely east of Keddie across Nevada to SLC.
