Santa Fe ....

In Oakland, July 21 1956, the SF Chief - check out the bus.

In San Bernardino Jan 15 1955 - first 270 - haven't played with it enough to really bring it out nicely - and (according to the slide) 3831 & 3832. I have a feeling, looking harder at the number plate that it should be 3631. But, I am NOT a ATSF steam expert. These are going to the ATSF HS in any case, I'm sure they can correct the captions.

Thanks for sharing the photos on line. Great to see some Santa Fe. The steamer looks to be headed for the torch but then that would be a easy guess.

Most likely 3831 and 3832 are correct. Santa Fe did not have any 3600 class engines as of January 1, 1949. The 3800/3900 class were 2-10-2's, the last of which operated over Cajon as helpers in June 1952. That might explain why they were still around San Berdoo in 1955.
