The Portland Traction in all its glory, switching at Boring in Sept of 1977. I think I was supposed to be at work this day. I had better things to do, as it turned out.

WOW!!! Do share more if any, too bad the line from 99E all the way out to Estacada was ripped up, could be reinstalled if there was enough freight/passenger demand.

Awesome photo!!! Just ten years later this 1952 SW-1 would make its last trip to Boring and everywhere else east of Milwaukie where the right of way is now part of the Springwater Trail/40 mile loop jogging trail.

Engine #100 was preserved and is the property of Dick Samuels and still is used regularly in freight service and special events on the remaining portion of the Portland Traction now known as the Oregon Pacific Railroad.

Their other SW-1, #200, now serves a grain elevator in Superior, Wisconsin (Harvest States)
