Shot 3 is amazing..."Something for everyone" indeed. In addition to the Alco, GE, EMD mix thing. I am amazed that an RSD-12 was hanging out in LA at that date.

#4 & 5 ...Those units are parked on the "Day & Night" track. The Day & Night water heater company's spur. The boss would say..."Get a couple off the day & night, and go against bowl #9". Just a little extra info.

Larry,

I would bet when he told you "to get a couple off the Day & Night lead and go against bowl 9" they weren't big Alco's like these, more like the 2400s or SW1500s. Some strange stuff did wind up sitting on the Day & Night over the years though. Great photo's John!
