SSW 8372 is leading Amtrak #5 thru Sparks, NV on a bright, warm, January morning in 1988.

Drew,

As always, I enjoyed the view and seeing it made me think of Tom LeBroke who was an SP engineer out of Sparks. I think he'd retired by that time. But it made me think of him, a good man he was.

Nice Shot. And that's a Cotton Belt. I don't recall seeing too many Cotton Belt Locomotives leading on an Amtrak Train. Thanks for sharing

And that was when the F40s kept breakin' down like flies! I bet all the host railroads then were gettin' fed up with leasin' their units to help Amtrak out!
