A LOT of people's very first HO locomotive, especially in the days before Athearn and others!

The engine in the photo is interesting in its own right. I'll have to do some research on it.

Years ago, Max Gray or somebody made a casting that would turn these little guys into cab forwards! (I didn't buy one)

The tender is more interesting. If I remember correctly it is ex-Central Pacific.

I remember the valve gear kit you could get. Those tiny rivets and they had to
be pounded down just right so the gear wouldn't bind. Not easy when you are
12 years old. I wish I still had mine old Dockside. I don't know where I lost it
but it was probably during college when "Mom" cleaned my room out when I
was gone..... oh well maybe someone will bring it back - only wishing.

Your correct....this tender has exactly the same trucks as the Gov.Standford's tender .
