I think the 'ROCK' paint scheme was among the most attractive paint. But I also think it was a scheme that would be VERY hard to keep clean.

That makes you the first person I've heard that from. It takes guts to admit you like something that so many dislike. I like the red, white & black route of the rockets best.

I always have enjoyed when folks start posting Rock Island scans. Thanks for doing so!

Now, how rare was the stacked "Rock Island" lettering that's shown on the 1203? I don't recall having seen that before.

Rock Island ended up with a lot of one-off schemes. But there were a few of that style of lettering. Go to Jeff Prince's website www.rockisl.com and look under paint schemes.
