Nostalgia & History > Road Trip 1983, Part 6Date: 06/07/07 04:32 Road Trip 1983, Part 6 Author: SP6190 June 22, 1983 Continued
#1 At Brush we found the BN 6562/5208 doing a little switching in the small yard there. #2 The BN kept a couple of units at Brush for local and switching service. This day the 2060/2057 were the units of choice. #3 There were a couple of empty coal trains waiting for new crews. One of them was the BN 5045. Date: 06/07/07 04:33 Re: Road Trip 1983, Part 6 Author: SP6190 #4 The other coal train was the ATSF 8070.
#5 Time for a westbound. Here the BN 5080 comes around the curve and past the grain elevator with a loaded coal train. #6 The 5080 was followed closely by the BN 5534 with another coal train. Date: 06/07/07 04:34 Re: Road Trip 1983, Part 6 Author: SP6190 #7 Then it was time for the empties to leave. First the BN 5045 headed out of town.
#8-9 Followed by the ATSF 8070. Date: 06/07/07 04:36 Re: Road Trip 1983, Part 6 Author: SP6190 #10 And then it was our turn. Near Sterling we caught up with the BN 7189 heading into the siding with another empty coal train.
#11 The big surprise of the day was actually catching a train on the Union Pacific Julesburg Subdivision. This is the line that ran from Julesburg to La Salle Colorado. Here we see the UP 735 heading west near Sterling. What film were you shooting with the dark, cloudy weather?
