SP GP9 #2872 returning from Davenport Jan. '85

GP9 #2872 is on the way back to Santa Cruz passing Scaroni Rd. (sometimes better known for its proximity to a certain red, white, and blue mailbox)with just one other unit. That days train also had two SD9's which had been left behind in Santa Cruz due to the restriction of six-motor power between there and Davenport. These two geeps would end up doubling the hill back into Orby.

Good image Drew. Those were good old days when the Santa Cruz Local would have anywhere from 2 to 6 GP9/SD9s as power. One time I filmed a 4-unit set of GP9s, of which three were ex-commute. - Tony J.
