Nostalgia & History > SP 7342 Memorial Day 1982Date: 07/16/11 19:19 SP 7342 Memorial Day 1982 Author: oyw As I continue to search for material to scan, I always seem to find something buried that I had forgotten about. Back when I was just beginning to discover Cajon Pass and every location was new, a buddy and I stumbled across daylight painted SP 7342 on a West Colton bound manifest between Canyon and Keenbrook on the morning of May 31, 1982. No chasing trains down to the next location back in those days, boy have my habits changed since then.

And the year before that I dropped it and totally messed the camera up. I was poor then so it took awhile to save the money I needed to get it fixed. Of course I was just a dumb college kid then...

Last time I saw her was at the loop and she looked as dirty as the rest of the power on the head end! Anyone find out when SP started to quit keeping their engines clean?
