With the de-reulation of the railroads in 1980 "per diem" cars like the Pickens R.R. boxcars were disappearing quickly.

Picture 2: Yreka Western is not gone but is going due to CORP not running over the Siskiypus. Picture taken Nov. 1980.

Picture 3: McCloud River Railroad is not gone either but is dying slowly. I was in McCloud several months ago and there is no business, and the railroad appears moribund. Picture taken Oct. 1980.
