Here's what one on-line NKP roster showed: NKP 900 N&W 2900 5/66 NS 2900 EMD 27894 11/1962 ret 3/7/91 to Mad River & NKP Museum, Bellevue, OH 5/92 Date: 11/05/12 07:14 Re: mFile: a GP30 I never saw: NKP #900 Author: tomstp Location of the bell is most unusual.

Being that the NKP went right through the Lake Eire snow belt, it's not surprising. Date: 11/05/12 08:09 Re: mFile: a GP30 I never saw: NKP #900 Author: ntharalson PHall Wrote:

An NKP expert is going to have to wiegh in on this, but stop and think about it for a moment. In the nose, the bell would get clogged with snow when they hit a drift, so I doubt that was the reason. Likewise all GP35s. Hard to imagine 20 years have passed since then.

NKP is not the only road to relocate the bell. They just choose a unique location to put it. Date: 11/05/12 15:57 Re: mFile: a GP30 I never saw: NKP #900 Author: UPNW2-1083 PHall Wrote:

It would make it easier to clean in out than being on the roof though. Nice shots by all, can't beat a GP30.-BMT |
