Nostalgia & History > One of my favorite Cajon photo spots.Date: 11/08/12 19:25 One of my favorite Cajon photo spots. Author: Alco251 Until utility poles ruined, it, the nice curve just east of Martinez Spur in Cajon Pass was one of my favorite midday vantage points under winter sun conditions. It was easy to get to, the best shot was well clear of railroad property, you could use any lens in the bag, and as this November 20, 1993 picture will attest, you occasionally got lucky, as UP and Santa Fe trains race to Summit. In reality, the UP is running on an approach signal and will stop at Summit to let the Santa Fe train in the distance pass and ascend Cajon on the south track, then the UP train will cross over and follow the Santa Fe down the hill. Canon EOS-1 with Kodachrome 64; lens is Canon 300f4L. David R. Busse photo.
