This train ran into South Dakota unlike the original 400 (Train 400-401) which ran Chicago to the Twin Cities. Both trains came off within days of each other in the summer of 1963. This photo was on display in the Waunakee depot when I was up there back in the late 1980's. My wife is from Madison and we followed the C&NW from Madison to Rock Springs and Reedsburg many times. They used to have a model RR in the Waunakee depot back then, don't know if that's there now.
