1 - SP SD45T-2 rebuild #6769 with 8383 and 8279 on the sevice track lead awaiting their turn to be serviced after bringing in a train over the Cascade Line. Taken at Eugene on October 3rd, 1986 on Kodachrome 64.
2 - Light helper set consisting of SP SD45 rebuilds #7443, 7517, 7440, 7536 and SD45T-2 #9381 returning back down the hill after helping Extra 6775 West up to Cascade Summit. They were just cut off of the train at the railroad West end of Cascade Summit and came out here at the railroad East end of Cascade Summit using the siding. Photo taken on Kodachrome 64 on December 26th, 1986.
3 - SP SD45 rebuilds #7551 (SPs first one, originally with white SP on the long hood) and 7565 with SD40 rebuild #7310 sandwiched between them, lead a Westbound out of Eugene yard. Photo taken at the end of Roosevelt Blvd. on Kodachrome 64 on January 27th, 1987.

Kind of surprised me too, as I forgot I even had that shot of three Kodachromes together on one train. Someone asked about that a couple of posts before this one and here is one for proof that more than two were actually in the same consist on the same train. But I am sure that it must have happened at other times too.

Seeing these great shots, reminds me once again how much I miss the SP and 70s-80s railroading in the West!

I saw this train on the Shasta Route as the train was on its way to Roseville...after dark though.
