Nostalgia & History > GP-30 Thanksgiving (for Frank)Date: 11/22/12 05:45 GP-30 Thanksgiving (for Frank) Author: santafe199 A short little PM conversation with Mr. "GP30Frank" last night stirred up memories of my resolve to get my GP-30 collection (both Santa Fe & UP) scanned sometime soon. Until I can shuffle 4 or 5 of my hotter 'irons in the fire' onto the back burner, these 2 examples will just have to do. Here's some Thanksgiving Day dessert for ya, my friend! (and thanks for stirring me up a bit ;^)
1. UP 849 idling at Marysville, KS on May 25, 1981. 2. AT&SF 3240 departing Argentine, KS along the original 3 mainlines while an eastbound hump job is working on the high line on April 8, 1977. Thank You: For the free country we live in! For the food on our plates & the air that we breathe! For the families we have and the friendships we make! For the sun & the rain & the wind! And for the life I'm blessed with! Thanks for letting me share pictures & stories with my TO family! Lance Garrels santafe199 Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 05/03/22 16:46 by santafe199. Nice shots. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Date: 11/22/12 08:14 Re: GP-30 Thanksgiving (for Frank) Author: GP30Frank Thanks, Lance. Obviously, I'm sort of prejudiced about 30's, and I sure hate to see those recent photos of them being hauled off to Larry's.
