A Little MRL Break
Author: TTM

Time to dust off some more of the collection. Bob Johnston caught MRL 1710 with some lumber loads coming off the Polson branch at Dixon MT on 7-7-88.

Thanks for looking,

Tom

That is Dixon, the train is coming off the branch to Polson.

The MRL has never run trains on the Phillipsburg branch though some customers have used parts of the Drummond wye to load commodities.

The lumber loads off the Phillipsburg branch were in box cars and the line was dormant before 1988.
This is the beginning of the Polson branch at Dixon. MRL put in a new yard out of Polson but this branch
has been shut down for almost two years.
