That's a pretty unique looking station - almost looks Eastern influenced with the upward end slope of the roof.

Picture 7, “Old Sonora Depot. The wainscotting on the bottom is marble quarried from Columbia– another product the railroad transported at one time.”

What's the story of the Santa Fe coaches in this neck of the woods?

Must have been some kind of a special trip...hard to believe that amount of folks would come out in their Sunday-go-ta-meetin' clothes for a train...boy, what a window into a different world though....like looking at another planet almost....compared to today..

Costanza I agree with you. It must have been a special train or event to get so many people at the railroad station. I found a website that lists a Timeline for Tuolumne County, the county of Sonora. Nothing is listed for 1912.
