Nostalgia & History > Lehigh Valley's Paducah RebuildDate: 12/13/12 20:29 Lehigh Valley's Paducah Rebuild Author: LV95032 Date: 12/13/12 20:44 Re: Lehigh Valley's Paducah Rebuild Author: zephyrus IIRC, IC / ICG also rebuilt locomotives for Conrail, Alaska, Ashley Drew and Northern, and Clinchfield at Paducah. And they did the Mass. Bay Transportation FP10s.
Wasn't aware they did anything for Lehigh Valley. Z Date: 12/13/12 21:31 Re: Lehigh Valley's Paducah Rebuild Author: PHall If you had the cash and a rebuildable GP core, Paducah would do the job!
Date: 12/13/12 23:41 Re: Lehigh Valley's Paducah Rebuild Author: GRNDMND They also did at least one, and maybe more, for Precision!
KC Date: 12/14/12 06:21 Re: Lehigh Valley's Paducah Rebuild Author: march_hare IIRC, the LV unit was a one-off from a wreck rebuild.
Date: 12/14/12 15:36 Re: Lehigh Valley's Paducah Rebuild Author: SCL1517 They also rebuilt at least one from N&W's vast fleet of Geeps. Sadly, it didn't last much (if any) longer than the rest, sort of like the rebuilt "E10" that Amtrak bought from ICG. As for the CRR GP11's, it seemed almost like SCL had that done just to get a template for the "GP16" program. The CRR units wore Paducah "GP11" builder's plates, but SBD called them GP16's.
Great picture of a unique engine. Unfortunate that she got lost in the shuffle at CR; anybody have a photo of her in blue? |
