SP freight and an Alco at Houston -- Nov 77

East of Houston on the SP Sunset Route an eastbound passes Alco RS-11 2916 - in the weeds.
2916 is pulling a couple cars on the Railwood Industry main from the Houston Chapter NRHS museum site. 
Whenever chapter cars left or arrived at the museum site it was always interesting to see what engine SP would send. It was a nice surprise this day to have an RS-11 do the honors.

The delapidated remains of the communications pole line seems comfortable with the trashy bar ditch and area.  So goes with the paint job on the SP2916.

Is that the KCS Observation "Good Cheer?"

Last time I saw that old MoPac coach it was at the GATX tank car facility in Hearne, TX. Before that it was at the LCRA Railcar Shops in Smithville, TX. It looks much better in this picture than when I saw it.
