GRS Date: 03/21/17 13:10 Re: B&O GP40 at Houston -- March 78 Author: ESPEE5318 I Dont know about Texas, but in the late 70s Chessie System (B&O, C&O, Blue and Chessie system paint) GP40s were out west/SoCal on SP and ATSF, ATSF leased a bunch and SP was pool etc. I have even seen pics of them on the point East bound on the sunset route.
PS now that I think about it have seen other pics in Texas......... They got on the Cotton Belt in St. Louis and came down the "Rabbit". SCL power came through New Orleans. BN also lended a hand with some SD40-2's, one of which was wrecked on the Rabbit.
