Here’s some Rock Island maroon from over 42 ago down in the grain belt of Iowa.

1. CRI&P 1344 and signal S-2792 are ‘searching’ in vain for a solvent future with...

2. …a basic roster shot of the 1344.

Searchlight belongs to the CB&Q (BN)- south track, milepost 279.2.  The Rock Island Freight House in the background was in very sad shape for years and bulldozed within the last couple of years.

That Mopac boxcar behind the locomotive is a former ART ice reefer converted to a "Flour Service" boxcar....Another great catch!
