High water at American Falls (Idaho)
Author: Nomad

An 844 thread on the western board ( https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4276903 ) prompted me to dig out some of my slides from American Falls in 1997, the last year I remember them using the spillways at the dam on the Snake River. Enjoy!

Photo two is remarkable because of the ferocity of the water.

Might see similar or better water flow this year?..a friend of mine in Twin Falls says the falls are at record levels this year!..like how the water, in the foreground, in pic #2, is well past the "Warning" sign/fence!

I taught two days of maintenance classes to the Hunt-Wesson people at the Falls like
ten years later and you had to dive in to get wet!! Amazing shots.
