Switcher Saturday. Alco C-415.
Author: hank

The town of Burlington, Iowa was one of the only places where 3 Alco C-415 locomotives could be found in the late 90s. These units worked on the Burlington Junction. the 701 Nd 702 came from Mt. Hood in Oregon. The 21, I think came from Mid Continent railway museum. History beyond that, I am unsure of. Before I moved from that area in 2009, the 21 had been moved to Quincy, Illinois. All corrections and information welcome and appreciated.

Enjoy.

Hank.

The 701 and 702 look like the Columbia and Cowlitz locomotives. Before that the 702 was on the SP and shows evidence of the SP style light package.

No info on the red one. Chehalis Western had one and it went to a museum near Tacoma.

All three of these pictured have high cabs, so they are not of Rock Island heritage. The two former SP units were the 2406, and the 2407.

The 701 has high-ad trucks, so it isn't former SP.
