Ron looks real happy in that photo.

Was a great SP trainman on the SP commutes and later Cal Train. I uses to ride with him on a regular basis.

Very sad he only lasted a year after retirement!

SR, that's exactly the way I remember Ron, weather-vane ears and all. I see that he's got his old SP "Conductor" badge on his hat. Quite a guy.

I'd guess that necromotoring the line is no longer possible, but what about using a bicycle with training wheels...hmm?

Yea, scanning these and seeing Ron again was a kick!

I don't know what the status of the line is now, physically. Is it even intact?

Thanks for posting the picture of Ron.I worked with him during my time at Amtrak.Sure sorry to hear of his passing.Being from San Jose, Ron would laugh when I would question what "City" are you referring to San Jose or Oakland? My Bay Area coworkers were always quick to correct me.,San Francisco!I am from Los Angeles.Ron once said he rode the last San Jose streetcar and when VTA started, the first. Thanks for posting.Bill Webb
