Some More of Roger Puta's Mexico Photos
Author: MartyBernard

If you are interested in Mexican steam, I have made several postings over on the steam discussion board yesterday and the day before. I'll make one more today. They are easy to find. Just look for "MartyBernard".

Here are 6 more scans of scenes from Mexico taken by Roger Puta. The captions are his. Errors in the transcriptions are mine.

1. NdeM Mixed Train 352 bound for Aguascalientes leaving San Luis Potosi, S.L.P., Mexico. Taken from Train 2, the Agula Azteca on September 7, 1966.

2. NdeM Montreal 7204 & 7239 working in Valle de Mexico yard, Tlalnepantla, Mexico on September 13, 1966.

3. NdeM station at Sumidero, VER., Mexico from Train 51 (note 3 Tiers of mountains in background) on September 11, 1966.

They're all choice Marty. For me; the "Niagras" were beauties, nicely balanced look and purportedly great steaming engines with a lot of power for their size.

Some of the 'Niagras' were ex-Florida East Coast.
I don't know my roster info that well though.

Roger must've had a inkling maybe subconsciously that he was going to pass at an early age because he sure packed a lot of life and travel into the years he was alive ...

Have any of the passenger equipment or old diesels (1st generation, ALCo, etc.) been sold or still exist in boneyards, or have they all been scrapped?
