The lines for trains 3/4 have been plated over, too, as of earlier that month. 5/6 would be discontinued entirely the following year.

Old Southern RR T&E crews were based out of Salisbury, NC and worked to and from Monroe, VA. Salisbury based brakemen worked to and from Atlanta, GA. Greenville, SC engine crews and conductors worked to and from Salisbury.

Two of them (including 6141 on the point) were repainted green in 1976 and three more a few years later. The rest of them stayed in "dirty tuxedo" until the end.
