OK, that's my name for Broadway Tower. It's not exactly a work of art, is it? An unknown photographer took this shot probably between mid-1981 and mid-1986.

If this was a crossing gateman's tower, I would suppose that it was one of the few left in North America by then.

Nice shot. I remember seeing lots of the RS-32s running around Green Bay during that time period.

The operator invited me into that tower on 7/7/79. I think he controlled the GB&W -- C&NW crossing.

I have never seen photos of the interior of Broadway Tower. What kind of interlocking machine did it have?

Yeah, that is a pretty cheesy tower. And how many towers had tower in their name?

In the San Francisco Bay Area, SP had "Newark Tower", which was not a tower at all, just an unremarkable one story building.

Ha, more than once I heard the operator refer to it as "Newark Haffa Tower" on the radio...

I once was with a drunk engineer who in a rather sloppy voice yelled into the radio, "Hey [operator's name], who knocked the legs out from under your tower?" Cripes. Thank goodness it was 3:00 am, and all of the local officials were busy sleeping off their hangovers.

Mission Tower, Los Angeles, and Tower 55, Ft. Worth come to mind.
