A Couple Of Shots From 1988
Author: TTM

Here are a couple of shots I took in July 1988 on vacation. Don't know if any of this stuff is around anymore.

1. LMX 8547 leads a northbound BN train at Dock Street curve in Tacoma WA with a fuel tender and a B-30-7AB.

2. CP Rail 5523 is heading eastbound with 2 Conrail GP-35's out of Calgary AB. If I remember I believe this was out close to Ogden Shops.

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed.

Tom

Thanks for posting these.
The CP/CR/CR photo is a surprise. Still, CR units seem to have ended up in many interesting places.

Not sure, but the only one that may still be left around would be the CP SD40. All the rest are gone. Ben

Tom,
Nice pair, thanks for the share. That last shot is really nice with the low level light.

I think CP had those Conrail units on lease at the time.

That's one of the brand new 'sharks'. (Gray with a white 'shark fin' in the middle of the side.) They didn't run like that very long before they got the red on the nose under the white band, giving them a 'bloody mouth' appearance. For some unknown reason the B30-7As were called 'Twinkies' around here. I'll blame Dave for that. :-)
