Nostalgia & History > 1st NJT Raritan Line train to Hoboken?Date: 05/27/17 18:03 1st NJT Raritan Line train to Hoboken? Author: sig292 Back on October 5, 1991 I rode the first public train on the Raritan Valley Line (ex-CNJ) to Hoboken, at least according to the banner on the cab car. Wikipedia states that the waterfront connection, that makes this routing possible, opened nearly a month earlier on September 9, 1991. Anyway, the train offered a free ride from RVL stations to Hoboken for passengers attending the Hoboken Terminal Festival. I had no idea the train would have a banner up front and when I saw it, I hurriedly unpacked my camera and ran to the cab car. While I fumbled around trying to get a photo, the conductor was kind enough to hold the train a minute or two so I could get the shot and get on board.
Does anyone know if this in fact was the first RVL train to Hoboken? Ken Gear Date: 05/27/17 18:22 Re: 1st NJT Raritan Line train to Hoboken? Author: boejoe Curious which station this is on the RVL...
