Shortline Sunday - A&BB
Author: refarkas

It is July 11, 1972 in Barberton, Ohio, and an N&W ALCO RS is sitting outside the main office of the Akron and Barberton Belt Railroad. In the period between retiring and scrapping the A&BB Baldwins and leasing Precision National Geeps, they sometimes used an N&W ALCO RS.

Four years after in 1976 I started a 25 year career wth a Barberton company, but spent very little time there. Always liked th variety in NE Ohio.

Very interesting. #2541 might have been the only exNKP RS3 painted in NW black and white.

The tank car is a classic. As I've said before there's nothing like an RS-3. Look at the automobiles in the photo. There's not a single import among them. Not even a VW Beetle.
