I took these photos back in 1969 or 70 when I realized that the end was near for passenger trains and Union Terminal. I was 15 and took the bus down to the station carrying my Dads Kodak Instamatic camera and walked from one end of the property to the other. Glad I took the photos and sorry if I have published these before...

Glad too you took the photos and do not worry about the quality. No one else might have such scenes. The PRR/NYC/PC hookup is special. But the railroad that still had some class at that late date was obviously NW, not the one I worked for. CUT was one of the latest, and best designed, of USA union passenger terminals that put all connecting railroads at one terminal. Late 50's early 60's would see 40 trains a day or more. The folks started going to the horrible airplane.

Remarkable photos. Back when a kid of 15 could walk through a place like this and at worst be ignored or at best be given the red carpet treatment by employees.

Your pictures emphasize the breadth and size of that rail passenger facility!
We all have precious instamatice shots that are maybe lower quality, but still have historical significance.

Ain't that the truth! In my case I have Kodak 110 shots but some of them are stuff that you just can't take no way no how anymore no matter how crappy the resolution is now.
