Nostalgia & History > Chuck Vercelli: SP GP9 with dynamics and steamDate: 06/25/17 00:15 Chuck Vercelli: SP GP9 with dynamics and steam Author: Evan_Werkema This thread from yesterday about GP7's and 9's with steam generators and dynamic brakes:
https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,4322884 caused me to remember this slide at the Western Railway Museum Archives by the late Chuck Vercelli. It shows the Sacramento Daylight at its namesake station ready to head down to Lathrop to meet the San Joaquin Daylight. The slide is undated, but from what I gather from Richard Percy's site, it could only have been taken between 1965 and 1967, as this ex-T&NO geep only carried the number 3422 during that brief time span. http://espee.railfan.net/tnogp09p.html It was renumbered into the commute pool in 1967 as SP 3010, later became SP 3191, and is reportedly now on the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley in West Virginia pretending to be Baltimore & Ohio 6641.
