EL Alco deadline at Marion -- March 76

An all Alco deadline on the west side of the Erie-Lackawanna yard in Marion,Oh.
Mostly RS3 units with a few S2 engines.
The track at this point was getting a little ragged. Of course the telephoto lens exaggerates things a bit.
I have pictures of some of the engines in the line and will have to dig those up.
I may have posted this shot a number of years before.

What memories these ALCO's bring to mind. Akron was one of the homes for ALCO switchers and ALCO RS roadswitchers.

This is at the west end of the EL yard in Marion looking east.

If you had not said whose it was I would have said Rock Island near the end. Although Frisco's 8th ave yard in Ft Worth got lots worse than that. And, the Feds shut it down

Hoping this isn't the same rail that they tore out of the Delaware Division in the early 70's...
