Am told there is a U50 there but cannot spot it for the life of me. Date: 07/18/17 16:33 Re: Take the Espee challenge Author: BCHellman No U50 in this frame.
Positively identifiable: U25B, U28B, RSD-12, S-6, C-415, and C-630. There's an EMD, but the model is not identifiable, at least for me. Date: 07/18/17 16:41 Re: Take the Espee challenge Author: PERichardson BCHellman Wrote:

SD7 perhaps? You got the other six perfectly. The U28B is mostly hidden but number gives it away. Date: 07/18/17 17:08 Re: Take the Espee challenge Author: GoldenState The EMD, two to the rear of the 2954, looks to have the high brow of a GP30?
Date: 07/18/17 17:16 Re: Take the Espee challenge Author: ssw I think that's the U50 2 to the rear of the 2954 note that you can see the nose lights through the window of the next unit - nose is higher up.
Date: 07/18/17 17:37 Re: Take the Espee challenge Author: bobc19024 At least one of the locomotives survives today.
The 2954 is at the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, California. Bob Date: 07/18/17 17:41 Re: Take the Espee challenge Author: DynamicBrake I flunked.

That's what I thought, too; and yes, it's the SP 9951. Here is a slightly larger frame of the same shot: http://leadfoot.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1567942 Also, another view, same time, a few degrees to the right: https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,1915993 Mark Edited 3 time(s). Date: 07/20/17 10:13 Re: Take the Espee challenge Author: ExSPCondr Mr. Hellman is correct, there are six identifiable models. It is definitely an EMD two behind the 2954. Definitely not a U50!
The question is what is the Century in the lower right with only its radiator visible? It could be either a C-628 or a C-630? Trivia, a second survivor is the C-415, its up in Oregon or Idaho? with the 2407. G Date: 07/20/17 12:40 Re: Take the Espee challenge Author: mcfflyer ExSPCondr Wrote:

And looking at the other link Mr. Bridgewater provided, that locomotive on the far right is a C628. Lee Hower - Sacramento Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/20/17 12:42 by mcfflyer. |
