Assorted Seaboard Diesel Locomotives

1. SBD GP40 6650, ex-Atlanta & West Point 730, Cincinnati, OH on May 28, 1987.

2. SCL brand new GP40 1621 at Bryan Park Shops, Richmond, VA on September 19, 1970.

3. and 4. SCL 583 with Train 85, the Everglades, in Ashland, VA in March 1970. E8A ex-MKT 107C, 53C, and ACL 552, then to AMTK 241.

5. SCL GP35 1400 ex-ACL 909 in Richmond, VA on March 9, 1969.

Thanks for posting Marty. Always nice to see former West Point Route and Georgia Railroad locos still, mostly, in their original scheme.

The latest I saw part of one in its near original scheme was actually the former Georgia Railroad hood placed on the former SCL GP40 6776 in either 2000 or 2001. Everything except the hood was still in SCL black/yellow. Not too long after I happened to catch the 6776 repainted in the bright future scheme. Amazingly the unit was retired very quickly after being repainted.

Those are Seaboard COAST Line units,not Seaboard AIR Line.
There is a difference.
