Nostalgia & History > 2003: There was Steam at SteamtownDate: 09/18/17 13:36 2003: There was Steam at Steamtown Author: bandob Perhaps this should have gone on the steam board, but since it is part of my "photos in order" project, I'll put it here.
In November and December 2003, Steamtown was running a steam-powered Holiday Special. Only two cars when I saw it just after Thanksgiving. B&OBill Edited 1 time(s). Two other steam locomotives not operable: NKP 759 and an interesting CNR 4-6-0T. B&OB Date: 09/18/17 15:46 Re: 2003: There was Steam at Steamtown Author: refarkas Great visit.

It's not like this engine has a 20 foot long tender. Date: 09/18/17 20:21 Re: 2003: There was Steam at Steamtown Author: YankeeDog CNR class X-10-a 4-6-4T. Neat little mill Ran from Montreal Bonaventure station to Dorval on the original Grand Trunk alignment which was south of the present CN route. David P Morgan (of Trains magazine) wrote the text of a great photo essay about watching the commuter operation at Dorval in the 1950's. CN used wooden coaches of great vintage on this run. |
