Here are two similar images from then and now.
Image one: B&O's coaling tower in Akron, Ohio looks semi-operational in September 1980. That is Cuyahoga Valley Line 4070 in the background.
Image two: On October 14, 2017 the coaling tower looks like a forgotten relic in an abandoned location.

Nice comparison shots of the old coaling tower.
I did not know the trackage by it had been abandoned.

Those coaling towers were built to last and they did.

I believe the trackage was ripped out in the last couple years but can't say for certain.

Nice comparison. That first photo looks like it could have been taken in 1950, if B&O was used by GTW for trackage rights! One only needs a little imagination.
