The replacement hoppers were a fun bunch, with a lot of history. Finally seen up close there, the KCPL, which has got me guessing it's origins. Kansas City Power and Light would be a logical guess, but???

At the time of the video the UP had assigned SP 100-120 to work the beets between El Centro and Tracy. Don't remember how long it lasted, seems like maybe 1997-2000 or so. Other units would fill in at times, but the norm was sets of 3 SP AC's. |
