Missouri Pacific local in Texas -- March 78

A local is between Houston and Brownsville (just north of Bay City) on the MP Brownsville subdivision-Kingsville division.

Great look back. Looks like a different car behind the power in #1 than in #2-#3 and a brakeman getting on/off the unit---was there some switching done at that point?

I didn't even notice that but don't remember where the car came from or was dropped off at.
This is way out in the country but maybe there was some kind of business nearby.
These slides were not in the original box so I might have extra ones somewhere that would explain this.

When I lived I Houston, I became acquainted with those darn fire ants while moving the yard. Nasty little beasties. I wonder how they survived the floods last summer - but I imagine they did.

In the news during Harvey they showed clumps of fire ants floating along in the water.

Beneficial nematodes are the all time fire ant eaters.
Took care of ours in fine style.
