Nostalgia & History > DD+(1): Buffalo, Boulder, Cheyenne, Keokuk, Portland OR, MissoulaDate: 03/18/18 08:29 DD+(1): Buffalo, Boulder, Cheyenne, Keokuk, Portland OR, Missoula Author: valmont Like the caboose (and many other items of RR history) have disappeared ... and depots, although not all gone, aren't as numerous as they once were. With that in mind I'm starting a new series that will include not only depots, but other track side structures such as towers, water tanks, roundhouses, etc.
Most of the depots will be identified but there will be some that I'll need help with .... This new series will be 'Daily Depots +' or simply 'DD+' .... here's the first installment All 3 my pics: 1. I really like the Buffalo image. There is an ongoing effort to preserve this Art Deco gem. See http://buffalocentralterminal.org. The next tour of the building is scheduled for May 13, 2018. During a 2003 trip in Montana, I saw the Milwaukee Road depot in Missoula. It looked very much the same as what is shown in the photo, minus the train. The depot building is now the headquarters for the Boone and Crocket Club, a wildlife & hunting organization. it hosted a Rock Island passenger train down from Eldon, IA. Just adding to the information. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 03/18/18 16:11 Re: DD+(1): Buffalo, Boulder, Cheyenne, Keokuk, Portland OR, Miss Author: refarkas The lighting on number six is beautiful.
