On the home page I saw a black rectangle where the photo should have been, but when I clicked on it it displayed correctly. ʎɹɹɐ˥ Date: 06/22/18 17:53 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: JimBaker All I see is the blank frame with the logo at the upper left.
Clicking on Reload or Open doesn't affect anything. Bob, can you repost the photo, please. James R.(Jim) Baker Whittier, CA Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/22/18 17:59 by JimBaker. Date: 06/22/18 18:00 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: Larry020 That’s odd. It comes up fine.
The car is on the right side of the photo. ʎɹɹɐ˥ Date: 06/22/18 18:02 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: MILW16 JimBaker Wrote:

Sorry, I couldn’t resist. ʎɹɹɐ˥ Date: 06/22/18 19:19 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: DynamicBrake The stations of yesteryear were so much more aesthetically pleasing than those today. Back in those days, there was pride in how the railroad was represented to the public. I don't see that these days. Nice shot of the Paso station. That's a Firedome BTW.

Great Photo there. It doesn't look just like that today. James R.(Jim) Baker Whittier, CA Date: 06/22/18 19:42 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: agentatascadero Thanks for the repost of the photo....looks great. Just FYI, the Desoto is a 1956 model.
I strung many trainorder "arms" there when my Dad worked second trick at Paso. AA Stanford White Carmel Valley, CA Date: 06/23/18 06:15 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: zr190 DynamicBrake Wrote:

Stations of any era are scarce as hens teeth today. zr190 Date: 06/23/18 08:39 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: cewherry Interesting placement of the train order boards. Typically they would be directly in front of the operators bay but here they are displaced several feet and appear to be controlled from within the freight house. Don’t think the op worked there. Would like to see the bell crank linkage on this one.

I'm certain that the Atascadero station had the levers in the middle of the telegrapher's desk ( I spent a lot of time at both Atascadero and Paso Robles stations.)...recall tells me the telegrapher's desks were the same.....still I'm uncertain about that. Way back then, I was allowed to pull the levers to change the trainorder board (?) indication, and I cannot recall leaving the office in Paso to do so. But, a small voice in the back of my mind tells me that maybe the levers were out in the baggage room. I hope someone here has better, more certain, recall of the layout at Paso.
