Photos in North Georgia in 2004 Please help identify

The above photos were taken in October 2004. I was living in Smyrna, Ga, but did make a trip to Manchester, GA to railfan.

Any ideas on the location.

The first picture is in Tallapoosa,GA along US78 looking west. The second picture i think is west of there,back off of US78, looking east, where the line crosses the Tallapoosa River.
