1033 and its two brothers in that consist were S/G-equipped when delivered, with "torpedo tube" air tanks.

Photo 3 shows the switch where the Georgia became 2MT (directional running) between Decatur and downtown Atlanta. I don't remember when the second main track was lifted, perhaps in the mid-late 1970s.

Besides the railroad, photo 5 captures Atlanta banking as it once was... the then-new tower of the First National Bank of Atlanta and the offices of Fulton National Bank and the Bank of Georgia. The banking industry has seen the same kind of consolidation as railroads.

I like the Decatur depot better than the train.

That is one immaculate looking depot with a lot of charm. These are great, coverage of these guys seems to be scarce at best.
