James R.(Jim) Baker Whittier, CA Date: 07/20/18 15:57 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: AZSP I always liked how many of the depots had custom freight platforms with a variety of roof extensions or seperate roof structures. I lived in Moorpark in the 80’s. Does anyone know if the feed company replica structure is still there (Where the depot once stood)?

The depot in this photo, a #22 Common Standard depot, was built in 1910, and was torn down in 1964. It replaced the original 1900-built depot, which burned down in 1910. Info from Henry Bender's excellent "Southern Pacific Standard-Design Depots," 2013, p. 133. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/20/18 21:43 by Margaret_SP_fan. Perhaps for bulb maintenance. Date: 07/22/18 21:15 Re: Espee Depot Friday Author: spladiv Correct. It was retracted and then extended again. SP didn't have bucket trucks when that was installed.
