Nice roster photo of a seldom photographed shortline unit.
Since the road operates 25 Mi.(between Amory and Fulton)
the ALCO had limited opportunity to roam.

You're showing your (young) age!  Back in the 60s The Mississippian was well-known as the home of two nicely-maintained ex-SLSF (originally JLC&E) 2-8-0s.  Both, 76 and 77, have operated in preservation, exist today, and at least 77 is still operable (as 41 on the Alberta Prairie Railway).

And thank you for the original post.  When they dieselized I sort of lost interest and have not thought about the Mississippian in many years.  I gather they are still in operation and still using the S-1 as their sole motive power.
