Hands up for those Missouri Pacific fans who liked to a see screaming eagle on the flanks of MP's diesels as opposed to the more spartan cab version. SD40-2 3102 was book-ending three of the latter on Fort Worth on March 9, 1980. Richard Yaremko

Nice consist shot, lots of history here! Although I wasn't exactly a Mop fan I did like that Screaming Eagle. It helped break the monotony of that drab, solid dark blue scheme...

Like so many other railroads, the MP downpriced their paint scheme from a very attractive original version....and shame on them, and all the others who did so too.

No offense to those who like this one, or any of the other downpriced schemes.

Nice shot--always liked the blue trucks when clean.  The eagle did very much help the simple blue paint job and kept us reminded of "Route of the Eagles".  I was most disappointed in the MoPs inconsistency of nose stripes than anything else.
