4. CBQ E8A 9966 with Train 18, the California Zephyr, at Western Ave., Chicago, IL in November 1969.

5. GN E7A 500 at the Roundhouse near SPUD in St. Paul MN in September 1962.

6. The most beautiful E-unit paint scheme in my estimation.  GN E7A 505 in Duluth, MN in September 1962.

Thanks for taking E-units Rick,

Well, you really made my day with these slides. Of particular interest is the Texas Zephyr at Wichita Falls. That is one of the best color shots I have ever seen of an E-5 on this train. I saw the Texas Zephyr in the early 1960's in Dallas. --Kelly

Quite a train in the background at Duluth. All keepers. Thanks for sharing.

Clearly something unusual going on.  The PRR Pullmans are not normal for Duluth nor are the Q HW diner and dome coach in the background.  It definitely is Duluth though.

Gordon,

The train is a Chicago to Hibbing, MN fan trip by the Illini Railroad Club.  It did have sleepers and I think that is why the PRR cars are on the train.  It is Labor Day 1962.

Thanks, Rick, for the explanation.  I too was wondering about the equipment.
