Shot From the California Zephyr in California -- Part 1
Author: MartyBernard

In January 1968 Rick Burn shot pictures from a dome on the California Zephyr in Colorado and California.  Here are six California photos.

1. Western Pacific's California Zephyr at Keddie, CA in January 1968.

2. WP F3A 801-D from the California Zephyr at Keddie, CA in January 1968.  The Diesei Shop says 801-D is ex-Sacramento Northern 303, nee-NYO&W 503; trade-in to EMD.

3. The California Zephyr at Williams Loop, CA in January 1968.

Enjoy,

Very nice gems.

Wow! Didn’t even notice that?!? And that’s a lonnng way down, too... He’s doing the right thing by holding on and looking away from the moving train, though ( Hopefully they didn’t whistle too much for him— scary that close and high up!)
